LPN Careers Today

Everyone is looking for, not necessarily that dream career, but a career that is protected from recession. LPN careers can actually become your dream career and is well protected against the economy. Everyone has seen the person working at a job for years and years and all of a sudden that job is pulled from underneath them. The LPN job has been found to be one of the most profitable careers as of today. Statistics has also shown that there is a 14 percent increase for an LPN career by the year 2012. Why is this? Over 1.7 million LPN’s will be needed, but only 630,000 nurses are able to meet this demand.

Many students choose the LPN position versus the other medical positions because the education is very much affordable either on campus or online.

You can receive your diploma within 2 years or less and all nursing schools offer an associates degree. By doing an online search for online nursing programs, you will find numerous amounts of schools that have this type of accommodating program available.

There are so many fields and specializations to choose from so you can keep from getting bored. You can work from areas such as the maternity ward all the way to the surgical unit.

Great communications skills are a must for all LPN careers. If holding a conversation is easy for you and maintaining a positive attitude comes naturally, you will be very much demanded; as these qualities are just as essential as your nursing experience. You will be dealing with patients every day so knowing and understanding the patients needs will require you to have patience as well as terrific interaction skills. Being able to think on your feet is also a must with this type of job as a patient’s life could be placed in your hands.

Don’t worry about job stability. If you continue your education throughout your career and people are continuing to live much longer lives, LPN careers will be flourishing.
