Lpn Nursing Home Jobs. Are They Hard To Find?
The biggest misconception out there is that it’s best to work in a hospital if you are an LPN. This could not be furthest from the truth. Many facilities out there are looking for good practical nurses to employ. One of these facilities are nursing homes. LPN nursing home jobs are plenty for the picking.
As a license practical nursing(LPN) student you can basically work anywhere you want. Places like medical offices, home health aide facilities and nursing homes are always looking for LPN’S.
Here are the Pro’s and Con’s for LPN nursing home jobs:
1. Many LPN students shy away from working at a nursing home because of fear of losing the skill they learnt. Because of the slower pace in the nursing home rather than a hospital this may be something you want to take into consideration before making a change. Staying on top of the latest news in your industry can prevent you from falling into this trap. Some LPN schools will even allow you to come in and do refresher courses which may not be a bad thing if you feel like you are losing any of your training skills.
2. Another thing to consider when looking to work in a nursing home as apose to a hospital is that the pay scale may differ slightly. Hospitals tend to pay slightly higher than nursing homes. Although if you are a highly skilled nurse the pay scale may not differ. If you are someone who find it difficult to work in a high stress environment than a nursing home be be better suited for you. Since working at a hospital will requires you to work at a faster pace and require you to make faster decision.
There are many pros and cons to working a hospital job or lpn nursing home jobs. Only you can make the decision based on your personality and your ability to handle stress regardless of the situation.
